Accommodations
Our rooms are located downstairs on the second
floor of the Riverwood Inn. Each room has a private bath and
are reasonably priced, clean and quiet, except on nights when we
have bands which is usually either a Friday or Saturday.
During the months of July and August, we do not have music due
to the incredible amounts of festivals and events that take up the
summer weekends. None of the rooms have phones or TV so they
are really not recommended for people with children. We do
have coffee in the rooms to help you start your day and we have late
checkouts. For motorcyclists, we have indoor locked bike
parking to protect your investments and we are a favorite stop for
two wheel riders. Pets are OK. Just let us know ahead of
time if you have your special friend with you.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE NOT BEST
WESTERN!!! IF YOU MAKE A RESERVATION WITH US, THEN YOU SHOULD
KNOW THAT IF WE WERE ME, AND WE WERE TRAVELING, WE WOULD LOVE OUR PLACE. WE ARE A ROADHOUSE!!
WE DO HAVE IN ROOM COFFEE AND THE ROOMS ARE VERY CLEAN.
I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO SPEND THE NIGHT AT THE RIVERWOOD INN.
The Riverwood Inn has existed
continuously as a roadhouse since 1937. Phillipsville was a
popular stop for Highway 101 travelers and we think one of them stayed
behind in the form of a ghost. There have been many sightings
of him in and about the halls, but he tends to stay up in the attic
area. The building is full of creaks and groans, thumps and
bumps and on the nights when we have live music, you may as well
stay upstairs and enjoy the music as you probably wouldn't be able to sleep till the
last note anyway.
We have five rooms ranging in price from $78
for
queen beds to
a king for $95. All prices include tax. We also have a room
with a queen and a twin and a group room with four twins and a
shared bath. Three person minimum, please. With our great Mexican restaurant and full bar upstairs,
we are a one stop accommodation. Our front porch is a favorite
place for passing the warm summer evenings while sipping on your
favorite beverage and during the winter we have a huge fire to keep
you warm and toasty. We are at the beginning of the Avenue of
the Giants and are in close proximity to the ocean at Shelter Cove
and the most stunning forests in the
world.
Reservations or a
phone call in advance is recommended, especially during the winter.
We will turn the heat on and have the room warm prior to your
arrival. After 2:30, please call the bar at 707-943-3333.
The bartender will take your info and turn on the heat for you!
Phillipsville is located
just 6 miles north of Garberville. Take the
Phillipsville/Avenue of the Giants exit off 101 and just another 2
miles down the road will find you at our door.
Coming from the north, take the Miranda/Phillipsville
exit and follow signs.
